I believe that through storytelling people will be able to find their own creative language and understand that there are no boundaries to their creativity. In current times, there is a growing intrinsic need for personal authenticity.

Whether the wearer requested a new item or is looking to alter an existing one – the first and most important aspect of the process is their opening letter. Everyone has a unique story to share. Asking “What has made you felt emotional?” is an opening to a wider discussion and thought process. For instance, the wearer can share stories of love, coming of age, personal traumas, significant memories among many other themes.

The ideas and themes generated from the wearer’s letter are later converted into unique symbolic drawings, which are subsequently printed onto high quality fabrics with the use of screen printing by hand. After the garment is finished, the drawing templates are then archived.

The refinement of the design process lies within the endless possibilities of experimenting with traditional handcraft. Having learnt the processes myself, I explore new outcomes and learn that imperfections, blemishes and mistakes provide a now rare originality in such an intensely ‘standardised’ culture. As we live in times of highly digitally simplified language we may have forgotten the power and importance of words, stories and allegories. Beauty has been reduced to a two–dimensional reality when it can be found much further beyond.

Each cut is based on the wearer’s measurements and individual preferences. The wearer may choose to favour a more roomy fit with extra functional pocketing or a more fitted cut with minimal detaili. As this is a truly individual service, fit and other details can of course be adjusted should requirements change over time, and repairs made.

As a final touch, the garment is wrapped in unique wrapping paper, which is recycled from our dry point pressing and highlights the different elements of the process used to produce your new garment.
